What a fantastic week to be in Sydney, with the Good Food & Wine Show back and bigger than ever for 2017. Presented by Citi, the show featured fantastic celebrity chefs, experiences, masterclasses and hundreds of first-time exhibitors showcasing products never seen before.
Walking in we were blown away by the amazing range of features and classes before us. Some of the highlights for us were the Good Food Theatre, presented by ILVE where patrons can watch the best local and interstate chefs and restaurateurs on stage as they cook delectable dishes live, the Riedel Drinks Lab, Cheese Alley – yeh you read that correctly a whole section dedicated to the finest Buffalo mozzarella, cheddar, camembert, goat’s cheese, creamy brie…and many more. The Good Food Village was at the heart of the show, packed with small artisan producers who pride themselves on the quality and provenance of their produce. Bringing back a fan favourite the Casa Barilla Cooking School was a free hands on interactive cooking classes allowing you to make the pastas of your dreams.
Finally the real show stopper was EAT presented by the Citibank Dining Program. This exciting new pop-up dining precinct offered all visitors access to a selection of Citi’s finest partner restaurants with hand-picked McWilliam’s wines to complement your meal. Helmed by Salt Meat Cheese, Black Bar & Grill and Butcher and the Farmer we had ourselves a table full of mouthwatering plates like Mushroom & Truffle and Margherita Woodfire Pizza, Thai Prawn Salad, Brisket Reubens, Pulled Pork Rolls and Slow Braised Brisket with Creamy Mash.
All in all this was an absolutely fantastic event that really brings to light the quality of food available to Australians. What a great way to spend a weekend. We are so excited to go next year.
