Le Petit Flot Restaurant & Wine Bar is situated right next to the entrance of The Tank Stream Hotel, just a few minutes walk from Wynyard Station. Known for their contemporary french casual cuisines, many of their dishes are suitable for sharing.
The restaurant has been opened for just over a year and customers love their French cooking techniques with a Japanese twist.
Whitebait Fried Canape 8
To start us off, we tried this delicious whitebait entree which was crunchy and delightfully flavoursome.
Entree Tasting Plate
We were excited to try a new tasting plate they created just for us that encapsulated a bite of some of the classic entrees. Our favourite was the Wagyu Tartare which was extremely delicate and simply melts in your mouth. Served beside slices of Anchovy Toast, it is definitely a dish we recommend to order.
The Seared Saikou Salmon was also done well, served with an Amaebi Sweet Prawn and Cold Angel Hair Pasta.
Tasting Trio 39
This Tasting Trio is a great chance to try a bit of everything. Served with Crackling Pork Belly, Grilled Lamb and Braised Wagyu Beef, all were tender and the jus sauce was absolutely delicious.
Seasonal Fruits 15
A great aspect that we loved was their refreshing desserts. Don’t be put off by the title of being just seasonal fruits – instead, it was plated beautifully with the right balance between being sweet and fluffy.
Vanilla Infused Apple, Apple Butter Crisp, Micro-Celery, Vanilla Icecream 12
How gorgeous is this dessert?
The different textures of the apple was simply outstanding and the vanilla icecream complemented it perfectly. Definitely a refreshing dessert that we recommend.
The people behind Le Petit Flot are all about “real, straightforward, honest food”, using techniques and cooking methods to really bring out the best of each ingredient to create a truly memorable dinning experience.
