FRIED CHICKEN! CHAMPAGNE! SNEAKERS! OH MY!
Surry Hills has welcomed a much loved addition to it’s sensational food offering with Butter. Brought to us by the same people as Thievery in Glebe, Butter is a mouthwatering food orgy mixed with a sneaker fetish.
While fried chicken has gone gangbusters in Sydney at the moment it was clear to see the appeal at Butter. We ordered the Size 13’s which came with 4 thigh pieces, 9 tenders, 2 sides of pickles, 2 sides of slaw and a choice of 3 sauces ($60). Served in a shoe box, the pieces were golden and crisp with each bite striking an audible crunch followed by a resounding and satisfied Mmmmmm as we reached the soft and succulent meat. The slaw had a fresh creamy crunch that also gave a nice balance to the chicken.
The sauces to choose from go up in heat from naked, OG, fire, and if you’re game enough hot AF. If chilli isnt your thing, they also have honey mustard, buttermilk ranch and smoked aioli (this one is the sh*t). To top all this off we went full ballin’ with a couple of glasses of champers which I must say go amazingly with fried chicken!
All in all Butter was well worth the visit, but if you don’t have time for a sit down, Butter also offers takeaway. Because, lets be honest, you should be able to enjoy this anywhere.
