A Brewer’s Tale Cafe is a cute, quirky local cafe that can’t be missed if you’re walking along Burton Street in Darlinghurst. Located just behind the hustle and bustle of the National Art School and a stone throw away from Taylor Square. Recently opened about half a year ago, this new kid on the block is winning hearts of locals and travelers alike.
Everyone was warm and welcoming at A Brewer’s Tale Cafe. I particularly loved the interior of the cafe. We kicked off with a hot cup of Espresso Coffee and a Green Tea.
However, their specialty has got to be A Brewer’s Tale specially made – Coconut cold Brewed coffee. The Zimbabwean Cold coffee drip was served with ice and fresh coconut juice. Opting for something abit more cooler, we also had a Hibiscus Flower and Orange Iced Tea. It was a refreshing drink perfect for hot, sunny days.
The Smashed Avocado was such a pretty dish served on organic toast with balsamic glaze dressing. The sautéed red onions and cherry tomatoes were sweet and tasty.
Sprinkled with chia seeds and coriander, it makes a very healthy dish and a great start to the morning.
Signature Dish – Pulled Pork
The Pulled Pork was one of A Brewer’s Tale signature dishes. The colourful dish was hearty and gave off a home cooked meal kind-of-feeling. We love it! We were told that the pulled pork takes 8 hours to cook overnight and is made with a special happa sauce. The dish was served with quinoa, kale and sweet home made pineapple salsa.
Kid’s Menu – Dragon Boat
I was particularly drawn to the Kid’s Menu, with names like Dragon Boat and Little Bird, I couldn’t resist the urge to find out what they’re all about! We went with the Dragon Boat which features a hash brown, topped with bacon, baby spinach and melt in your mouth mozzarella cheese. Even the fussiest of kids will finish his meal.
We would definitely be back again to this quaint little cafe. It’s got all the good vibes of a chill out kind of place. With plenty of comfortable seating and soft, plush linen cushions, one can not complain.
A Brewer’s Tale Cafe is a fantastic place to spend some quiet time to yourself reading the newspaper or sipping on some cold drip coffee. After all, they’re all about good coffee, good food and most importantly, good times!
