Scarlett Restaurant at The Harbour Rocks Hotel

After a walk through the Museum of Contemporary Art at the Rocks, we were looking for a peaceful restaurant nearby and some cooling foods to eat in the summer heat.

We found Scarlett Restaurant only 5 minutes away from the MCA, located at the front of the Harbour Rocks Hotel. It has a very relaxing atmosphere and a great wine list.

Seared Scallops $18

Starting off we had these crispy prosciutto wrapped tender scallops pan seared served with cauliflower, raisin and caper vinaigrette. No regrets! They were a good combination of textures and they were tasty.

Fig Salad $18

Fig salad and walnuts. A lovely summer starter of goats curd with golden beetroot, aged balsamic and caramelized fig. The acidity of the goats curd binds it all together beautifully.

Harissa Chicken Breast $34

Very very tender chicken breast and confit thigh, matched with pea purée, and the most delicious honey glazed heirloom carrots.

Miso Glazed Salmon $35

This was the highlight dish of the night. Beautiful miso glaze on tender salmon sprinkled with sesame crumbs to add texture served with eggplant purée & chili prawns.

The miso glaze is a perfect touch for the salmon and adds a wonderful flavour to it.

Chat Potato $10 & Green Beans $10

We ordered the deep fried baby potatoes in rosemary oil and the green beans with confit shallots just to try. It turned out they were HUGE and the smell was so unexpectedly good!

Chocolate Mousse $15

Finishing the night with this sweet and rich chocolate mousse topped with salted caramel and sticky honeycomb. The dessert tastes as sweet as it looks so beware, for mega sweet tooth’s only.

In summary, a glamorous dining experience. If you are coming to the Rocks, don’t know where to eat and want something abit fancy, this place is a great choice.
