For years and years my family have been holidaying in Port Stephens and honestly I can’t get enough of it. From hidden waterways, pristine beaches, mammoth sand dunes and lush national parks this really is a superb part of NSW. Smack bang in the middle of this is the extraordinary Oaks Pacific Blue Resort in Salamander Bay. This warm and welcoming resort is the perfect choice for holidaymakers seeking affordable, self-contained convenience and an impressive selection of leisure facilities – including Australia’s largest swimming pool!
The Oaks Pacific Blue Resort offers a fun and relaxing resort lifestyle set amongst it’s stunning legendary 500 metre island lagoon pool. With a huge variety of accommodation comprising a selection of deluxe studios and thoughtfully-appointed one, two and three bedroom apartments – some with swim-out facilities, spas and private plunge pools, the resort caters for any couple, family or group.
Checking in was a breeze as we were greeted by the friendly staff and directed to our spacious 1 Bedroom Swimout. Let me tell you now, there is nothing better than being able to simply drop right into to a cold and refreshing pool straight from your veranda after a 2 and a half hour drive in 30 degree heat. Pure and utter bliss.
On top of that our apartment also included a full kitchen, king size bed, contemporary furnishings and air-conditioning. In fact, all the apartments in the complex make it very easy to sit back, relax and allow you to make yourself at home. At least for a little while.
If you’re hungry (as we always are) check out the Splash Restaurant and Bar for a very decent meal in our opinion. We were actually pretty surprised at how tasty every dish was and all at a very decent price.
In addition to the resort’s awesome island lagoon pool complete with children’s wading area, Oaks Pacific Blue Resort also features a gymnasium, heated spas, Japanese steam room, separate heated 25 metre lap pool and two floodlit tennis courts – meaning you can do as much or as little as you like while on holiday.
