Not many places that offer high tea would go to the efforts of changing their menu depending on the season and availability of seasonal fresh produce, this is where the Abode High Tea at the PARKROYAL Darling Harbour is a game changer.
Sampling Abode’s new high tea spring menu was an absolute treat and feast of an afternoon. Each element of the menu was paired with matching wines courtesy of Ergo Wines. We enjoyed Villa Jolanda Prosecco, Jansz Premium Cuvee and Jansz Rosé.
Savoury bites: Mini prawn cocktail, Crab, avocado and cucumber finger sandwich, poached chicken and egg finger sandwich, Prosecco cured salmon roulade with soft cheese, Roasted pumpkin, peptias and pumpkin puree tart, and bacon and egg quiche
Sweet bites: ABODE’s opera slice, raspberry meringue pie, Prosecco and pomegranate cupcake, passionfruit and vanilla cheesecake slice
As we made our way through the menu just when we thought we had tried the best thing yet, we were once again blown away by a dessert that we had fallen even more in love with (the Prosecco and pomegranate cupcake has my number one vote).
To finish: Pistachio macaroon, Jansz chocolate truffle and Jansz Rose infused chocolate dipped strawberries PLUS some delicious blueberry and vanilla crumbly scones served with rose scented Chantilly cream and strawberry jam
To compliment our sweet bites, we enjoyed Italian Almond Tea Pure Chamomile, Flowers Rose with French Vanilla Tea and Moroccan Mint Green tea.
After our day with Abode and Park Royal, I’ve learnt that high tea shouldn’t just be saved for once a year occasions like birthdays and Mother’s Day. High tea should be enjoyed on any occasion with good friends, family and sweet-toothed adorers alike.
ABODE Bistro & Bar’s Sparkling High Tea menu will be served every Friday from 2:00pm to 5:00pm, as well as Saturday and Sunday from 11:00am to 5:00pm.
