Society Pizzeria di Catania in Bondi offers a variety of fun, fresh, and healthy pizza options in a casual dining experience. They pay homage to Catania, one of the principal cities in Sicily where they are from, which is renowned for their unique cooking methods and delicious produce.
This cosy pizza joint offers some adventurous pizza toppings such as pulled pork and caramelised onions to the more traditional varieties of Margherita. All wonderfully cooked beautifully in a wood fire oven.
The Cucuzza had a topping consisting of wonderfully cooked prawns, char-grilled zucchini, and a slightly spicy base that left me wanting more. Special note of the crust and base which were light and fluffy and so tasty I could have eaten it on its own.
The Porchetta, which came topped with vibrant red radicchio, was fresh and full of flavour. The crunch of the radicchio balanced perfectly with the sweetness of the caramelised onions.
The Caprese salad, with the Roma tomatoes bursting full of freshness combined with some wondrous bufala, made the perfect side.
The sweet corn and mozzarella arancini had a lovely crispness coupled with the intense flavours of cheese.
We finished the night with their homemade tiramisu dessert which was surprisingly light even after so much food. The coffee laden dessert was the perfect pick me up after the rich comforting savouries.
With a variety of flavours and even sizes – you can order the monster 1 metre pizza – as well as delivery, there’s no reason not to choose Society Pizzeria for your next night out or in.
