This Italian steakhouse, known as Bistecca is tucked away in the inner west suburb of Abbotsford is one of the best local places you’ll find offering deliciously photogenic food. On top of that, the staff are incredibly attentive and friendly.
Veal Braciole $24
We were privy to a lovely selection starting with breadcrumbs and provolone cheese rolled into chargrilled veal pockets. The moment this plate hit the table, the scent had us salivating.
Raviolo Di Manzo Con percorino e burro $26
That would be some lovely slow cooked beef cheek ravioli served with percorino fondue and butter sage sauce. Thoroughly shredded beef and perfectly cooked pasta; a slight spring in the bite. The more we ate of this the hungrier we felt. Saucery!
Pappardelle con Ragu all’ Italiana $25
Homemade pappardelle pasta in beef ragu that melted delightfully onto the tongue. This dish was perfect to have on a cold winters’ evening; it warmed everything.
T-Bone Steak $45
Cooked absolutely perfectly medium-rare! Bistecca knows how to please the crowds with the steaks – juicy, tender, and charred in all the right places. You’d be hard pressed to find a steak done more impeccable.
Surprise, there was dessert too – a Nutella explosion. Accompanied by silky smooth vanilla ice cream, candied oranges and a fresh strawberry; a great combination for the final course.
Bistecca is a true gem, the whole package, and definitely worth a visit. In fact, round up a few friends and you can experience a whole suckling pig [$475]!
