The Sheaf in Double Bay has unveiled its revamped Garden Bar and we attended their launch party. It’s been transformed by Alexander & Co, the guys behind The Watsons Bay Beach Club and The Morrison. This is the first stage of redevelopment, with plans to revamp the upstairs area later this year.
The night was filled with lavender cocktails and featured an eye-opening table with an array of different cuts of meats, cheeses and bread. It was simply your heart’s desires all on one table. The party didn’t stop there with the constant influx of goat cheese quiches, juicy beef sliders with a toasted brioche bun and table spoon sized salads. Don’t worry, The Sheaf still offers a great range of eats to the public. There’s seafood, charcuterie and cheese boards that are ideal for sharing between friends as snacks.
Starters such as Sydney Rock Oysters, Ham Hock and Potato Croquettes, Salt and Pepper Squid, Sashimi Plate and Cracker Jack Chicken Lollipops are on the menu to please the crowd. Plus, the introduction of a new bistro menu created by chef Matt Weller (ex-Ananas) offers more substantial classic mains such as wagyu burgers, risotto, spaghetti pizzas and cuts from the grill on offer to feed the hungry (my kind of people!).
The Garden Bar is sophisticated and chic, the perfect host to small intimate gatherings or larger parties. With a beautiful venue, great vibes and delicious food, it’s a recipe for a great night.
