A ‘Cream In Your Face’ Cocktail… Can you guess what’s in it?
Lamb backstrap with smoked eggplant, mushrooms, jus $17.5
These moreish mouthfuls of lamb were super tender, going excellently with the earthy flavours of the mushroom and smokey eggplant.
Halloumi wrapped in prosciutto w/ pineapple salsa 12.5
I have to admit that I thought this was going to be way too salty when I got it. But digging in I found the haloumi was creamy and cheesy, allowing the prosciutto to bring out its very own delicious saltiness. The pineapple salsa was something new to me, adding a contrasting sweetness to the savoury combo.
Pumpkin and sage arancini w/ goat’s cheese, confit garlic aioli $14
Pumpkin and sage is such a fantastic flavour combo, especially when rolled into little crispy balls, fried till golden. The goats cheese was the perfect accompaniment adding that creamy bitterness that makes it so unique.
Crispy Skin Pork Belly $16.50
This pork belly was truly sensational, melting in your mouth with every bite. The crispy skin added a lovely texture to the soft meat. I really loved the addition of the black pudding, adding an even bigger savoury burst to the dish.
Lamb ragout pappardelle with parmigiano and rocket $26
I’m a sucker for a lamb ragout, especially on a cold winters night. There’s something so comforting about the rich homey flavours of the sauce and tender meat all wrapping themselves in the silky sheets of pasta.
Eaton mess w/ meringue, brandy berry coulis, lemon cream $14
This eaton mess turned me into a hot mess as both of us were fighting for the last spoonful. The crispy, chewy meringue, the velvety lemon cream, the fresh berries. All of it was a perfect symphony of sweet in our mouths. A perfect end to a great meal.
