Hittin’ The Town.
Get ready to feed your addictions – Single Origin Roasters have finally made their way into the Sydney CBD. They are bringing their Surry Hills vibes along with their great coffee and fast paced environment. Goodies on their launch night were a sampling of the all-day breakfast and lunch options for their new takeaway joint.
Starting with tastings of the avocado, feta, cherry tomato on rye toast and carrot emulsion with ricotta on a gluten-free crust. Next up were the ham and cheese toasties with a hint of mustard sauce, flatbread with egg hummus and dukkah, bacon sliders, and the delectable coffee braised beef cheeks with pickles and cabbage slaw on a brioche bun. The highlight of the food was definitely the banana bread with espresso butter – soft, fluffy, moist, and went down a treat; you will never find anything like it.
Drinks were flowing with kombucha and cascara on tap. There was one drink though that was specially made, never to appear again: the coffee cocktail – with espresso, salted caramel, and chestnut – invented by the amazing bar staff from The Barber Shop next door. If you had tasted this and weren’t a coffee lover to begin with, you’d most definitely have been converted.
Add this to your list for coffee, cocktails and takeaway eats.
