I’ve always favoured gelato over frozen yoghurts and it’s never too early or too late in the day for some good ol’ fashion Gelatissimo. So, some gelato lunch was had recently at the Cockle Bay branch.
This little hidden gem was clean and presented well; the staff were friendly and accommodating. The mountains of gelato were stacked high and my mouth began to water at the variety on offer.
The flavour of the month was “Do-noughts & Cross-ants”, perfect since this was to be a meal, after all.
On first taste it felt sweet, but when you scoop more than just the fudge sauce into your mouth, you realise it’s a deliciously decadent flavour and well deserved of the flavour of the month title.
My usual flavour of choice is choc mint, but since I was already having the Do-noughts & Cross-ants, I thought I’d break it up with something a little less rich; blood orange sorbet.
Clean and refreshing, this tasted a little reminiscent of a blood orange sherbet and believe me, I ain’t complaining. It was delicious!
