Located a few short steps from the sand and surf, North Bondi Fish is Bondi at its best. The restaurant is a relaxed space, which personifies beach side chic and is the perfect spot for lunch, dinner and everything in between.
Black Fig, Fennel, Goats Curd and Asparagus $22
A nice combo, the sweetness of the figs worked well with the sharp creamy curd while the greens added some fresh crunch.
Prawn Tacos $24
Pump and juicy prawns encased in a crispy batter with jalepenos and a red slaw. Tasty but not sure I would pay that much for tacos again.
A simple salad of tomatoes, coriander, basil, lemon and olive oil. The scallops delivered well, being tender and plump with a delicate buttery taste.
Salt and Pepper Arrow Squid $22
These were excellent with the perfect amount of spice. The squid was tender and went perfectly well with the red wine and ginger dipping sauce.
Lobster Linguine $34
I’ve always been a fan of simple pastas so I thoroughly enjoyed this one. The lobster chunks were large and frequent while the fennel, chilli, lemon and fresh tomato added a delicate and fresh flavour.
Grass Fed Sirloin Steak $36
For a fish place these peeps can sure cook a steak. Cooked just how I like it (rare if you wanted to know) and matched with thick cut slices of earthy wood mushrooms. Topped off with some crisps and smothered in cafe de Paris butter and your laughing.
NBF Snapper Burger $24
Fillet-o-fish eat your heart out. This is how its done. The fish was crumbed in a herby mix and in a beautifully soft bun with fennel slaw, tartare sauce and lettuce. Served with chips on the side, this was my favourite of the night.
