Busshari – YeBiSu (Beer)
Have you ever tried Japanese Beer? If it’s your first time, definitely try this beer out. It’s perfect for light drinkers. Wasn’t too heavy or overly bitter and went very well with the food.
The tofu had a pleasantly chewy outer layer and was delicate inside. Almost like a gooey sweet soy sauce texture to it.
Glazed soy sauce eel with avocado and cucumber. The leaf on the plate gave an authentic feel to the presentation. The glazed eel was to die for. Easy to eat and the cucumbers gave it a refreshing kick.
The size of these prawns were quite big! Crunchy and tender, the batter was lightly battered and went well with the choice of either green tea salt or pepper salt with a dipping sauce.
Saikyoyaki Miso Marinated Grilled Toothfish
Perfectly grilled, boneless and marinated, full of flavour. The skin was soft with the meat delicate and fragile. A perfect accompaniment to plain white rice. Served with white radish which was peeled into a lovely flower shape.
Soft Shell Crab
This was the winning dish for the night. Seasoned and fried to perfection. It’s no wonder its ranked in the top 100 dishes in Sydney. Completely edible, the crispiness of it all and savoury flavours will make you crave for more. The lemon is a must! It will add that extra zing!
Coffee Jelly with Coconut Ice Cream
The coffee jelly was not too over powering, because of the milk that was poured over which balanced it with sweetness. The coconut ice cream was divine and there were little chewy caramel cubes throughout. It complimented this dessert very well.
An open kitchen was displayed, as Executive chef Nobuyuki Ito presented his talented cooking skills in front of us. We were very impressed by his attention to detail, especially the way he presented each dish.
Overall Busshari has a casual relaxing vibe. We dined at 6pm, there were only a few people at that time, however by 7pm, the whole restaurant was filled and full of energy. Service was outstanding. Fast and attentive, the waiters gave detailed descriptions about each dishes that came out.
