Bake Bar has officially opened up their second store at the ever growing Alexandria. The second location doubles up as a factory supplier as well as a shop front, selling fresh baked goods to the public.
Potato and Mushroom Pastries ($2 each)
These were amazing. I don’t know how else to say it but they just were. The pastry was filling and hearty without having the regretful I-really-should-not-have-eaten-that feeling. I could imagine myself eating one (or five) of these for afternoon tea.
Tunisian Nicoise Salad ($17.90)
Fresh tuna, poached egg, tomato, spanish onion, green beans, kalamata olives, roasted carrot, potato & kale, dressed with harrisa dressing. This dish delivered its fresh tuna (none of that nasty canned stuff) and it complimented well with the greens.
Beef Burger ( $11.50 + $4.50 for chips)
Grass fed beef patty with tomato, cheese, homemade beetroot relish, caramelised onion, mixed lettuce and lemon aioli. First up, the chips were great – crunchy on the outside but nice and hot on the inside. The bun was soaking up the thick juicy beef patty. Overall, the burger was a great feed for any hungry workers on their lunch break.
