Mrs P’s, Burwood
I think it’s safe to say that I’m willing to travel far for my food but it’s always nice to have a new cute cafe around my neighbourhood.
French Toast ($17.50)
Made with brioche, and topped with toffee banana, prosciutto crackle and a dollop of mascarpone. Overall, the dish was enjoyable but it was difficult to pin point whether the actual french toast was meant to be sweet or savoury. I feel like perhaps if the toast was a bit sweeter, it would have established the dish a lot better. Although, the savoury prosciutto crackle against the toffee banana was genius.
Open Salmon and Avocado Toast ($15)
Salmon and Avocado have always been a match made in heaven – a very classic breakfast dish. The salmon was slightly on the dry side but overall, still enjoyable.
Potato Eggs Benedict ($16)
Homemade potato cakes, topped with poached free range eggs, free range bacon and hollandaise sauce. It was interesting to see the substitution of bread for potato cakes, and I thoroughly enjoyed that substitution.
Cinnamon Roll ($4.50)
Soft layers of pastry encasing flavours of cinnamon and topped by icing sugar. This roll is definitely a treat but a well deserved one. Eating is hard work you know!
Overall, Mrs P’s would be a great spot for catching up with friends over minimal hassle and a light lunch.
