Stumbling across a lunch deal with my favourite ramen eatery Ippudo at Central Park was a sure sign that we had to go in.
Every now and then, I find myself faced with such impeccable service that I’m a bit taken aback to be honest. Servers were extremely attentive, helpful and patient. To my surprise, we were asked if we wanted our noodles, soft, medium or hard which was unfamiliar even with my multiple visits at the CBD Ippudo.
AKAMARU SHINAJI with egg + drink $15
Described as IPPUDO original tonkotsu broth enhanced with special blended miso paste and fragrant garlic oil. Served with thin noodles, pork belly, black mushroom and shallots. A refined, modern-style ramen. True to it’s description, the broth was extremely aromatic and was full of flavour. Noodles were cooked as asked and soaked up the flavourful broth.
AKAMARU SHINAJI with kaarage chicken and a small salad $18
We’re not very exciting people so I order the exact same thing (without the egg) but with a side of Kaarage Chicken. The batter of the chicken was very thin and not like the kaarage chicken I was familiar with. It was a good experience but I would of preferred a thicker crispier exterior on the chicken.
Overall, the lunch deal is great value with even better service and food.
