Nestled in the main strip of the fast paced and busy suburb of Campsie, Ashin is a hotspot for locals looking for tasty and fresh Japanese food.
Edamame – the only way to start
Even though we were sitting at a table I couldn’t help but take a squizz at the train full of sushi gems like this prawn tempura and salmon roll.
As usual we had to get the biggest sushi platter, because I seem to be made of money (ha!), but it was well worth it, including a substantial range of nigiri, rolls and sashimi.
The fish was superbly fresh so we were pretty happy to get such large portions of the salmon, tuna and (my favourite) king fish sashimi.
Chilli Pork Hot Plate
Brought to your table hissing and spitting in glorious flavour, the food was as spicy as its attitude with tender pork pieces coated in a sticky sweet hot sauce.
Whether you are after a crispy tempura, teriyaki, udon, or fresh sushi, Ashin is a great place for any occasion.
