An Earlwood local myself, I’m thrilled to have a fine café located within walking distance from my house. The Woods Café and Deli is a relaxed and casual café run by Emma Woods, a former Rockpool Chef that offers breakfast and lunch daily and a dinner on the last Saturday of every month.

If its a hearty breakfast you want then “The Woods Big Breakfast” is the dish for you. Bacon, eggs, tomato, sausage and mushrooms served with a thick slab of sourdough toast. I really liked the herby mushrooms and the way they crisp the bacon. This breaky is every bit as delicious as it looks – maybe more so.

A really tasty dish the Woodsie’s baked eggs with braised eggplant, peppers, white beans and oregano comes with a big slice of buttered organic sourdough toast. The two eggs on top cover a delicious eggplant, pepper and white bean base and is all topped off with bitey shavings of parmasan cheese.

My staple breakfast whenever I go to The Woods, two fried eggs on toast with dukkah, hummus, preserved lemon, mint & red onion. The dukkah adds the most amazing flavour to the eggs while the mint keeps it fresh and lively. Most of all I love the flavour the preserved lemon brings to the whole dish.

You know when you’re so excited about something you can’t sit still and focus? That’s how I felt when I ordered a piece of this White Chocolate Croissant Cake. Words cannot describe how delicious and rich this is, but ill try. Pockets of white chocolate are interspersed between layer upon layer of soft buttery croissant. Its like a bread and butter pudding only 10 times more decadent. Here’s a tip: Ask them to warm it a bit and add a scoop of ice cream to cut that richness.
