Pumpkin Pie – this one’s my favourite!
With a 90% rating and more than 500 votes on urbanspoon, how can you resist not visiting the Pie Tin? We have actually been here a couple of times, and get lost trying to find it every time. I think it’s the maps on our phones not directing us correctly, or our inability to read a map. Unsure. For those of you more geographically-abled, please let us know the easy way of getting there since we love it so much! The Pie Tin is located on 1A Brown Street in Newtown (just off King Street).
The Pie Tin is a small corner shop, with an industrial, New York-Soho vibe on the inside. Only seating about 20-25 people at a time, the inside features brick walls, a large communal table, and high black stools situated in the middle of the floor, and four or five wooden single tables in the corner with metal seats.

Preferring sweet over savoury, we went straight for the sweet. However the Pie Tin offers a great range of both sweet and savoury pies and we recommend going on an empty stomach so you can experience the best of both worlds. Pies that caught our fancy were the slow roasted beef brisket pie with hickory smoke and mushrooms, the Sunday lamb roast pie with kipfler potato, pumpkin and mint gravy, or the tender steak pie with cheese and smokey bacon.
