Crispy Courgette Flower $16
Perusing the menu, these immediately jumped out at us. Lightly battered zucchini flower, stuffed with fresh fromage blanc and smoked mozzarella. This was a cheesy, crispy delight, fresh and tangy with tomato coulis to dip in.
Easily my favourite dish of the night, the spiced crusted quail, sweet corn puree, wood fired baby corn was a delight to eat. The secret spice mix has the perfect amount of heat making your mouth water without sending you rushing for your beverage. Definitely one to try!
On to mains with this slowed cooked pistachio crusted lamb rump. The lamb is cooked to pink perfection, cutting like butter and full of flavour. Accompanying this was a creamy cauliflower fondue matched with gorgeously coloured roasted and pickled baby beetroots.
This really was a fantastic and interesting dish. The cocoa pappardelle were like ribbons of silk bringing a delicate sweet savoury flavour to the dish. The wild boar ragu was rich and meaty lathering the pasta perfectly. All this is finished with a generous lashing of a super creamy and fragrant truffle parmesan fondue. Seriously get this dish.
Espresso Martini $9
What a stunning dessert and believe me – it tastes as good as it looks. This beauty was a combo of espresso jelly, creamy mascarpone , fairy floss and a tasty little homemade coffee gelato on stick. Amazing!
Finally to end the night we had this truly mouthwatering dessert. The hazelnut and chocolate fondant was hiding a molten chocolate center, sitting in a fragrant earl grey tea anglaise and topped with moreish caramelised spiced nuts that tie the whole thing together.
What a fantastic night of food and fun. With passionate staff dedicated to creating a relaxed dining experience for guests seven days a week and a prime location in the very heart of Potts Point, The Hyde Restaurant is set to become a neighbourhood favourite.
