Uncle Tetsu’s is taking over the world one cheesecake store at a time. From their humble beginning in Oyafukou Street in Hakata, Japan in 1990 to now being a worldwide addictive sensation, Uncle Tetsu’s is the largest cheesecake factory in the world. So it was great news to Sydney siders, that Uncle Tetsu’s opened it’s sweet smelling doors on George Street.
As you stroll through the hustle and bustle of George Street on any given day you will most likely first notice Uncle Tetsu’s by the long line out the door. When you eventually get a little closer you will be drawn in by their warm sweet smells, red and white interiors and their large open kitchen where you can catch a glimpse of the baking action.
So what makes this cheesecake so different you ask? Uncle Tetsu’s bake fresh authentic Japanese cheesecake on site daily. Japanese cheesecake is a dessert made fundamentally with meringue and cream cheese, it is not technically a traditional Japanese dessert yet is widely popular throughout much of the country. The Japanese cheesecake is the lightest, fluffiest cheesecake you will ever taste. Believe me, I’ve had 4 already…
At Uncle Tetsu’s you can take home the crowd favourite Signature Japanese Cheesecake or delight in the Honey Madeleine which are light as and incredibly delicious.
