Duck Summer Rolls (2) $7
Nestled in the heart of Glebe, Thuy Huong is a local dining gem for all things Vietnamese. Offering a mouth watering selection of dining options at a very reasonable price, we decided to check it out for ourselves.
These delicious rice paper rolls filled with BBQ duck, vermicelli salad, cucumber and fresh herbs were the perfect thing to start off the meal. Light and superbly fresh, they really bring that Spring feeling into the air!
Prawn and Pork Pancake $14
An uber crispy rice flour crepe filled with minced pork, prawn, mung beans and bean sprouts served with fresh herbs and salad. The best part about this is being about to rip it apart and wrap it in the salad pieces. The prawns were perfectly plump while the sprouts gave that little extra crunch.
Green Papaya Salad $14
Crunchy strands of green papaya are tossed with tender pork, prawn and beef jerky. Topped off with fresh herbs and a generous sprinkle of fried onion and crushed peanuts, this is definitely a dish not to ignore. I especially like the accompanying prawn crackers to scoop it all up with.
Vietnamese Hot and Cold Coffees
I absolutely loved both of these. The hot for it’s unique little coffee drip filter producing a coffee that’s not as intense as espresso but more flavorsome than most pressed coffees. Plus the condensed milk makes it all the more richer. The cold is a refreshing drop of creamy coffee induced wonderment.
Salt and Pepper Squid $18.50
Golden soft battered deed fried squid that carries an insatiable crunch. The squid meat is tender and juicy then tossed with salt & pepper, garlic, fresh chilli, fried onion and shallots. Perfect to share!
Vietnamese Chicken Lemongrass & Chilli $17
Succulent chicken marinated in special homemade lemongrass & chilli and stir-fried with onion, celery and capsicum. Absolutely divine! The fragrance wafting from this bowl was enough to make our mouths water.
Caramelised Pepper Pork $18
This traditional Vietnamese caramelised pork was easily our favourite of the day! Slow-cooked to perfection with onion, pepper sauce, shallots and chilli, the pork literally falls apart in the mouth.
All in all a fantastic meal at this local gem on Glebe Point Road. Perfect for all occasions with it’s delicious offerings, cool casual vibe.
