Eating with The Alternative Meat Co

Us at 2HG are always trying to find a balance in life. Balance between work and play, lazy and active, fun and formal and of course balance in what we eat. Over the course of our food journey we noticed that we tended to focus on a lot of meat, not thinking of our fellow humans who tend to stick to a more plant-based diet.

People cut back on meat for a number of reasons whether its diet or ethics, so we’ve decided to delve into the alternative ourselves and would love to invite anyone seeking a healthier diet to “meat” the alternative as well.

“Flexitarianism” is a mainly vegetarian diet which sometimes includes animal meat and is considered healthier for people and the planet. Many Australians don’t even realise they’re Flexitarian and already find themselves actively avoiding animal meat regularly.

It’s this concept that brought us to The Alternative Meat Co, whose products are grown, not bred, creating sustainable, ethical and eco-conscious meat alternatives for Aussies who want their protein from plant instead.

So in the spirit of balance we made 3 wonderful recipes to showcase the versatility of their products and found out just how delicious they could be.
