With 20 locations across Australia, PappaRich have established themselves as one of the best Malaysian restaurants in town. For authentic, delicious and affordable Malaysian street eats, nothing beats PappaRich.
Those in the CBD are now lucky enough to be the recipients of a new PappaRich Express Store, located in the heart of Westfield Central Plaza (that’s the Myer side of Westfield).
In addition to great tasting Malaysia street food, PappaRich have a wide range of Malaysian and other South East Asian beverages. Keep your eye out for their rotating combo deals in the Express Store which includes a free drink with various dishes. Coming up in the first week of June is the Teh Tarik, a milk tea drink made with evaporated milk – free with any Nasi Lemak order! Teh Tarik is milky, sweet and delicious!
Considered one of Malaysia’s national dishes, nasi lemak consists of aromatic coconut milk infused steamed rice, fried chicken, fried anchovies, fried peanuts, hard boiled egg, spicy sambal and cucumber slices. A truly remarkable dish and a must try!
Hainan chicken rice done well is an amazing dish. The chicken broth infused steamed rice is critical in a chicken rice dish and the PappaRich folks absolutely nail this. Coupled with steamed chicken, beansprouts, chilli sauce and chicken broth, this is the ultimate feast.
Nothing says Malaysian food quite like a curry laksa. Full of fragrant curry deliciousness and an abundance of vegetables. We opted for the vegetarian laksa which comes with large cubes of deep fried tofu. So good!
If you prefer dry noodles over soup noodles, then look no further than the dry curry egg noodles with curry chicken. A very generous portion of curried chicken, chinese broccoli and noodles that are springy and full of flavour.
One of our favourite dishes was the Char Koay Teow (CKT). Wok fried flat rice noodles with prawns, fish cakes, egg, bean sprouts and chives. Comes with the requisite ‘wok hei’ (breath of the wok) an absolute must with CKT!
Synonymous with Malaysian street eats is roti canai. We chose ours with the beef rendang which was flavoursome and tender. The roti itself was a fabulous combination of soft and crunchy. And that sambal chilli it comes with is amazing!
PappaRich is well known to Sydney siders as a great choice for Malaysian eats. With the convenience of their PappaRich Express Store in the heart of the CBD, plenty of food court seating and extremely quick service, a delicious Malay lunch is now just minutes away!
