Smoked Salad & Avocado

This Smoked Salad & Avocado was delicious. It was the perfect mid-day salad with essential greens of baby spinach and rocket, topped with walnuts, radish, and cucumber. Light, fresh, fantastic!

Salt & Pepper Squid

Matched with lime aioli, this Salt & Pepper Squid makes for a winning combination. It was the perfect balance of fresh and crispy. The seasoning had a lovely spice to it, making it the perfect drinking food.

Prawn Poppers

A real stand out on the menu was these Prawn Poppers. The finger food was such a delight that we wanted seconds. Each crunchy finger was bursting with flavour at each bite.

Green Beans

The Green Beans were a great little side dish served with deep fried shallots. Between the crunch of the beans and the crunch of the shallots, we couldn’t help but polish the whole plate.

BBQ Chicken

What a pizza! Look at this thing. There’s so much chicken and cheese, not one millimetre of the base is visible and the flavour is absolutely marvellous. A great one to share!

Crab Burger

Every week, Cargo Bar has Lunch Specials where they launch a different Burger of the Week. When they told me about this weeks special I just had to try it.

The crispy crab was perfect, matched with the soft bun with each bite an audible crunch. The soft meat inside was sweet and creamy, going perfectly well with the sweet heat from the mango salsa.

Rump Steak

If you’re looking for something rustic and satisfying, I recommend the Rump Steak. All steaks at Cargo Bar are served with a choice of sauces or mustards. The delicious mushroom sauce that accompanied this steak makes for a delicious combination.

Warm Chocolate Fondant

If sweet stuff is on your mind, this fondant is the dish for you. This steaming dessert is like rich chocolaty velvet in the mouth. To contrast all that softness, the dish is accompanied by salted caramel honeycomb which after an initial crunch melts in the mouth.

Hazelnut Ice Cream Terrine

A great dessert, both flavoursome and refreshing. I particularly enjoyed the crusting of crushed hazelnuts giving each spoonful a nice bite, while the berry compote balanced the flavour.

Cargo Bar is a great place to have lunch and drinks with friends. The 1970’s themed beer garden with the view of the harbour is a bonus. For those who work in the CBD, Cargo Bar offers Lunch Specials every Monday till Thursday, so if you’re on the lookout for something new and contemporary, this is the place.
