Salt Meats Cheese have recently launched a new breakfast and dinner menu at their Mosman venue and we couldn’t be more excited to check it out. Known for it’s outstanding produce Salt Meat Cheese now have 4 hugely popular stores in Alexandria, Drummoyne, Surfers Paradise and Mosman.
Separating their delicious grocery store from their pumping cafe, SMC are combining traditional breakfast staples with their own Italian house made products and it really is something special.
Freshly squeezed juices $7
We started the meal with some uber refreshing (and healthy) juices. On the left is a sweet and tangy combo of pineapple, watermelon, passion fruit and mint, while on the right is the best thing to make you feel like you’re actually being healthy; the ‘Green Juice’ made with apple, kale, spinach and celery.
Alfredo’s Pasta $20
My Italian heritage was screaming with delight at the sight of this gorgeous plate of baked rigatoni pasta, four cheese sauce, egg, prosciutto, all in a rich tomato sauce. Each bite took me straight back to my Nonna’s house, with it’s warm comforting feeling perfect now that there’s a chill in the air.
Tiger Prawns Cocktail $20 & Salt Meats Cheese salad $18
Served with Salt Meats Cheese signature sauce of avocado, mayo and sweet paprika, the Tiger Prawns Cocktail were the perfect little starter to get our taste buds into gear. The prawns were big and juicy with a lovey fresh taste to them. The Salt Meats Cheese salad comes with a beautiful combination of toasted bread, cucumber, Kalamata olives, rainbow tomatoes, feta, smoked salmon and very delicious fried baby capers. These beauties are like flavour bombs in your mouth, kicking this salad up a notch and a half.
Grilled Nectarine $17
What a sensational dish this was! The grilled nectarine is sweetly caramelized along with the grapes over the grill giving it a smoky sweet taste that’s to die for. The saltiness of San Daniele prosciutto goes perfectly with this, topped with creamy buffalo mozzarella, chives and fig vincotto.
Truffle Fries $9.5
If these fries were any more loaded, they’d shoot you! Crispy and golden, these little treats are generously covered in a mountain of shaved parmesan cheese paired with a good splodge of aioli. The smell of the truffles as it hits the table is intoxicating and you have to control yourself from wolfing it down like some savage.
Mini Croquembouche $5, Strawberry tart $5 and Passion fruit tart $5
If sweet is for you, Salt Meats Cheese also have an indulgent array of sweet treats for your eating pleasure.
Freshly made, you can get these treats takeaway.
Passion Fruit Margarita $16
To finish it all off we ended with a cheeky drink from the bar. This tasty combination of tequila, fresh fruit and citrus was a flavour explosion that’s perfect for a sunny weekend brunch.
It’s not only the food at Salt Meats Cheese that makes this place sensational. The staff here make the place feel homely with their welcoming friendliness and great services.
A return trip is definitely on the cards.
