Burnt Orange, Chatswood Chase

Located on Lvl 1 of Chatswood Chase, Burnt Orange brings it’s sophisticated and casual vibe and dining from it’s hugely successful sister restaurant in Mosman.

Burnt Orange have a wide selection of Pastries that are both delicious and interesting. The mouth watering display fills up the side of the kitchen area and immediately captures the eye and the appetite.

The Acai Bowl $14

With fresh kiwi , berries and crushed almonds, this was a wholesome and delicious start. The delicious assortment of fruit added a lovely fresh flavour and colour to the dish. The toasted coconut added a delightful contrast to the silky soft chia pudding .

Soft-boiled egg, avocado, haloumi and vine tomato with maple-roasted leg ham. A great selection of everyday favourites. I quite enjoy this grazing style of eating so this was really an excellent selection for me. The maple roasted ham was sweet, smokey and moreish, going perfectly with the creamy richness of the soft boiled egg.

Eggs Benedict on toasted brioche with Alaskan King Crab

The dish of the day and a unanimous table favourite. A beautifully put together dish, and although the concept of eggs benedict dish is quite common, Burnt Orange have seemingly perfected it. The egg was cooked just right, having a soft oozing yolk, whilst the crab was delightful with its sweet flavour and the dollop of hollandaise was spicy and creamy. Very impressed.

Banoffee Pie

Served with maple-roasted pecans and Belgian chocolate ribbons, this outstanding dessert has everything going for it. From the luscious cream and the crumbly base, to the crunchy pecans and rich toffee filling. I’m labelling this dish a ‘DO NOT SHARE’.

Yuzu and lemon meringue pie

A unique and visually appealing sweet indulgence. The citric and tart flavours are great for cleansing the palate. The contrast between the soft meringue and custard with the crunchy crumble and freeze dried raspberries made this rounded and balanced dish thoroughly enjoyable.

Overall Burnt Orange is a great addition to Chatswood Chase’s ever expanding culinary line up and definitely holds its own. Perfect for a mid-shopping break or just a nice place to sit, relax and fill your belly with some delicious food.
