Drawing off the vibrant energy of the bustling Parramatta district, the new 350 Restaurant & Lounge is a favourite among the western Sydney’s “Eat Street” restaurants. Conveniently located just through the entrance to the modern and stylish Novotel Sydney Parramatta we had the pleasure of sitting down for a meal that surprised us with it’s quality and surprising fare. Settling down to order we soon realised this was no ordinary hotel food.
Garlic Bread on Turkish Loaf with Dips $12
We started off with this mammoth bread basket of heavenly garlic bread. Matched with two dips; a spicy capsicum and creamy avocado. I had to stop myself from going full animal mode and devouring this whole thing, it was so delicious.
Grilled Haloumi $12
One of my favourite entrees with the haloumi how it should be, crisp on the outside and gooey on the inside. The stuffed bell peppers accompanying really stole the show here with their sweet spicy flavour mixed with a delicious creamy cheese filling.
Pork Belly Bites $12
I was actually blown away at how delicious this was. The perfect combo of crispy crackling and soft melt-in-your-mouth meat. Everything about this was great. The ratio between fat and meat was spot on. The fresh crunch and sweetness of the apple was a welcomed cut to the richness of the dish giving it balance and finesse.
Citrus Cured Trout $12
A quality dish of house cured trout that was abundant in fresh zesty flavour. The trout itself had a glossy feel to it, with a smooth consistency. The extra bang of flavour came from the scattering of salty capers and aromatic micro herbs that bundled this dish up nicely.
Spaghetti with prawn, chilli, garlic and capers $26
One of my favourite pasta combos ever, the simplicity of the ingredients allow you to experience every flavour together whilst not losing them in a complex sauce. I was quite impressed with the generous amount of plump and juicy prawns and sharp bitey parmesan scattered on top.
Create Your Own Pizza $25
The option to create your own pizza was one we really appreciated! We made ours with Prawn, Chicken, Mushroom, Kalamata Olives, Basil and Chill (a combo I would seriously make again). The base was crispy, smoky, fluffy and chewy all at the same time, and held the topping well without getting drab or soggy.
Chocolate Fondant $12
The deep dark colour of the fondant does nothing to foretell just how rich and decadent this delectable desert is. One quick cut with the spoon sends a mouth watering dark chocolate centre oozing out to greet you. This is definitely NOT for sharing.
Sticky Date Pudding $12
The thing I had been waiting for all meal. Made in house, I was so excited to find the pudding was moist and drenched in a glorious butterscotch sauce. The wattle seed ice cream was something new for me and I found it to be quite unique.
We were seriously impressed with just how good 350 Dining and Lounge was. You don’t often find a restaurant of this calibre and ambiance in the lobby of a hotel. The atmosphere was buzzing, the service was impeccable and most importantly the food was genuinely delicious. Not to mention how well priced it all is. If you’re walking around the Parramatta dining district it would be a real shame to discount this as a dining option.
