mojo By Luke Mangan is a unique restaurant combining the tastiest and freshest tapas with excellent wines. Using a fantastic voucher from Lime & Tonic we were able to try six of their most popular tapas, along with matching wines. All for $75 per person.
The thin slices of fish were incredibly fresh and bursting with sweet spicy flavour from the nam jim dressing. It was nice to see something that’s typically Japanese being infused with such vibrant Thai flavour.
Beetroot, Pearl Barley Salad
The beetroot salad was as delicious as it was fresh, with the sweet chunks of beetroot laying on a bed of chewy barley. The snow pea tendrils added a lovely crunch, while the peppery radish slices brought a lovely tingle to the tastebuds.
Soft Shell Crab Po’boy with Slaw
Well hello there!! This was easily the best dish of the night! The soft bun encases a massive chunk of golden crisp soft shell crab that’s soft and sweet throughout and goes perfectly with the creamy mayo and crunchy slaw.
Slow Cooked Duck Cigars
Another fantastic dish, the crispy outer shell encases a lovely slow duck that is just heaven with the mixed mustard fruit, providing a sweetness along with a uniquely spicy taste. These ain’t no ordinary spring rolls!
Pork Belly Tacos
One after the other these dishes just kept impressing us, or maybe it was the matching glass of wine with each, either way this one was a beauty. The soft pork melted in our mouths mixing with the creamy mayo and pungent coriander.
Churros Apple Pie Ice Cream Sandwich
Once I saw this on the menu I couldn’t help but lust after it all night. When it finally did come I can honestly say it didn’t disappoint. The churros were perfectly crispy with a steaming hot and fluffy inside. The apple pie ice cream added a much needed creaminess to the plate and complimented the cinnamon sugar coating.
What a fantastic meal! This Lime & Tonic dining voucher really was value for money with each dish accompanied by a perfectly matched wine. The chic and casual vibe of the restaurant really made us feel comfortable and relaxed (although that could also be attributed to the wine). Love wine.
