Nestled on the bank of a beautiful little creek, Pipeclay Pumphouse is a trendy restaurant setting a new culinary experience for the diners of the Mudgee region.
A much needed coffee to awaken the senses and warm the body. It was nice to slowly sip, taking in the beautiful surroundings.
Potato and Dill Pancake With Smoked Salmon, Fried Egg, Avocado and Lemon Creme Fraiche $18
This was Luke’s favourite dish of the whole trip which is very high praise considering he doesn’t eat eggs. Everything just seemed to work together so well, the fluffy savoury pancake soaking in the flavour of the salmon, the creaminess of the avocado and zesty creme fraiche, and finally the savoury egg topping it all off. I literally had to stop Luke from being a massive glutton and ordering a second serve. It’s so great to see how such simple and fresh ingredients can be turned into this gorgeous tower of delicious food.
Pipeclay Pumphouse Farmers Breakfast $21
For me, the Pipeclay Pumphouse Farmers Breakfast was the only way to go. A heavy plate of eggs (I chose scrambled), crispy bacon, Leemore mushrooms, sausage, tomato and housemade baked beans. Everything was so fresh and hearty with the eggs perfectly cooked into silky folds. I was most impressed by the baked beans which were full of rich flavour.
A must include during your visit to Mudgee. Perfect for breakfast, lunch, dinner and functions.
