Mudgee’s only boutique micro-brewery and restaurant, Mudgee Brewing Company is a historic venue featuring live music three nights a week as well as a delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner. We popped in for a spot of breaky, fuelling ourselves for the day ahead.
Bacon & Eggs on Turkish Toast $16
Can’t go wrong with bacon and eggs. Such a simple classic done so well. The eggs were silky and well seasoned and the bacon was nice and crisp, just the way I like it. I was pretty chuffed to see the baby spinach and pesto sauce, adding a fresh and herby taste to the mix.
Pancakes with Maple Syrup & Bacon $18
Will you look at that stack! Each pancake was light and airy soaking up the maple syrup wonderfully. There’s something about the bacon and maple combo that really sets people’s taste buds off. The sweet/savoury mixture just worked so well.
Scones with Whipped Cream & House Jam $8
Even though I was quite content with my meal, I couldn’t resist these warm fluffy scones. The dense dough was steaming when I cut it open and lathered on about a tonne of jam and cream. It really hit the spot with that second coffee.
If we were big beer drinkers we would have been blown away by all this, but alas we are wine men. In saying that I can appreciate the quality product this micro brewery is pumping out. This place is a real local gem, as their main goal is to promote Mudgee, local wine makers and farmers while increasing tourism in the Central West region. And, as always, serve fantastic beer and food.
