Los Vida is located on the restaurant level of the Sydney Westfield alongside Chat Thai and Janus. Bringing a complete authenticity of food from all around Mexico, Los Vida is a classic Latin American food experience that is simple, elegant and healthy.
The only wait to start. The classic margarita with a tropical blend of fruity flavours, citrus and earth agave notes. If you’re game enough, ask for a chilli salt rim for a mind blowing sensory experience.
Guacamole with Totopos $12
A spin on a classic guacamole with avocado, lime, coriander, garlic, chili, paprika and jicama with a fresh sweet burst of pomegranate. The pleasant crunch of the chips matched so well with the creamy avo in the guacamole. I was lax to share it with anyone.
Tuna Ceviche $13
This dish was definitely my favourite for the night and I feel like it’s been filling a missing hole in my heart. The combination of the tuna fillet, leech de tigre, chipotle mayo, clamato infused tapioca, cucumber, chives and pistachios were absolutely perfect. The filling was the perfect tangy and sourness I’ve been looking for.
Los Tacos – Lamb $5
The Lamb Barbacoa was soft and juicy, going well with the guajillo sauce, mint mayo, habanero and radish with pickled onion. I do love a soft taco especially when they have such a soft tender meat to compliment them.
Los Tacos – Beef $5
The Pulled Beef didn’t fall any short either with its flavour punch of chipotle sauce, coriander, nopales farsa, guacamole and poblano chilli with sesame seeds.
Chocolate Tart with Ancho Chilli and Date $12
The chocolate tart had a thick consistency and was sweet as expected and great shared with a friend because it can be a bit overwhelming by itself. I felt serving vanilla ice cream instead of whipped cream would have been a bit better to cut through the richness of the chocolate and refresh the palate.
Los Vida has an affordable menu and is matched with the perfect location in the heart of the Sydney CBD.
