Ever wanted to travel like the locals and see what a city is really like? Townske is the social media publishing platform you have been looking for. It was created by travellers for travellers; those loving to travel without acting like tourists or visiting tourist traps. Officially launching at Two Chaps, in Marrickville, this platform isn’t about star ratings and people you don’t know – it’s about having recommendations from people you can trust and who know the city. Every user has the opportunity to create guides and give their friends the ability to convert their dollars into rich experiences of the city. More hits than misses.
A certain hit from the night was having the launch at Two Chap, a local café from Marrickville. They served a delightful array of canapés and drinks featuring Young Henry’s and Antipodes water. Ricotta with celeriac and fennel, white bean with pine mushroom bruschetta were small, bite-sized flavour bombs while the tomato, mozzarella and potato, rosemary focaccias were light and fluffy as a pillow after a long day at work. They were drizzled with chilli oil and a pleasure to stuff my face with. The highlight of the food night though, was most definitely the chaice-cream surprise for dessert. Dipped in popcorn they were moreish.
So go on, hop onto Townske, learn more about the city you live in or want to visit, invite your friends, get creating on those guides, and while you’re at it read up on Two Chaps. With over one thousand five hundred guides since January being viewed over one million times Townske is creating a community for the sharing economy and is paving the way for travel toward the future. With an app coming out in the next few months, you’ll be able to take Townske everywhere you go.
