When you’re in the Northern Beaches, don’t forget to visit the Sushi Train at Dee Why. This successful sushi chain serves great quality sushi, sashimi and a variety of main meals all at great quality with affordable pricing.
It is conveniently located at the busy Pittwater Road, parking can be found easily in the road nearby.
We visited at lunchtime and this venue was busy with people sitting along the sushi conveyor belt. The service was splendid and don’t be afraid to ask for recommendation’s from the Sushi Chef.
There are plenty of great options with fresh and delicate sashimi being one of their specialties, it tastes as good as it looks.
Chef SHU recommended Prawn Katsu Nigiri for us to try. This fried dish is melt in your mouth goodness.
Volcano Roll or Salmon Volcano Roll are always worth a try if you prefer a modern fusion creation. I particularly like the creamy top layer and the sweet and salty salmon roe.
One of their best vegetarian choices is their sticky and yummy Teriyaki Tofu Rice. Very addictive.
For some classic nigiri sushi, try their Grilled Hotate-Scallop Nigiri and freshly grilled Unagi-Eel Nigiri, they will tantalise your taste buds.
For dessert, there are plenty of different types of in-house gelato – green tea is a pretty authentic and scrumptious choice.
There are many varieties of puddings and one that is interesting and delicious is the Marron Chestnut Cake. We found it moist and delicate, definitely the one to order.
Sushi Train is also a member of Washoku Lovers, a collective organisation that affiliates itself to amazing restaurants with Japanese chefs. When you join their membership you will be able to receive benefits in their affiliated restaurants just by showing their card.
Here at Sushi Train, when you show the Washoku Lovers card, you will be provided with a free and mouth-watering Gyoza Hand Roll! Highly recommended.
