National Burger Day with ZoOsh!

Happy National Burger Day for the 28th of May!!

What is this magical day you speak of? It’s a day, a whole day, dedicated to the burger.

In honour and celebration of the burger, we teamed up with ZoOSh, the dressing that makes you do the ‘yummy face’ *make yummy face* to create one hell of a burger – juicy, mouth watering, breathtaking.

ZoOSh have a range of delicious fun and funky dressings and mayonnaise ranging from “All Hail The Great Caesar With A Parmesan Punch” and “So Fabulous Kickin’ Coleslaw It’s Creamy & Tangy” but for our special burger, we paired it with “Hey Ho Free Range Egg Garlic Aioli”.

Having strong Mediterranean roots, we wanted to create something that was close to home. Something that combined the smell of lamb sizzling on a BBQ, the creamy crumbly taste of feta and the sweet smoky taste of roasted capsicum. These flavours are so comforting to us, that sharing it with everyone was a must.


Ingredients (Serves 4/ Approx 30mins)

1kg lamb mince
2 onions, 1 finely chopped, 1 sliced
2 garlic cloves, crushed
2 tablespoons chopped flat-leaf parsley
1 egg
4 sourdough buns, split
2 roasted capsicums, cut into strips
1 bunch of fresh rocket
200g block of Greek Feta
1 bottle of ZoOSh Hey Ho Free Range Egg Garlic Aioli
1 splash of olive oil
1 pinch of sugar


Start by softening the sliced onions on a low heat in a pan with some olive oil. Add salt and pepper to taste. Add a pinch of sugar to enhance the caramelisation process and leave to gently cook until they are soft and golden brown.

DSC00774While the onions are browning place the lamb, finely chopped onion, garlic, parsley, egg and some salt and pepper in a bowl. Mix with your hands until well combined, then form into 4 patties.

DSC00780Preheat an oiled pan or barbecue to medium-high. Cook patties for 5 – 6 minutes each side or until cooked through.

Toast the buns then place an appropriate amount of rocket on the bottom. Follow with the roasted capsicums, the cooked lamb patty, caramelised onions , then a thick slice of the feta.

Top with a generous helping of ZoOSh Hey Ho Free Range Egg Garlic Aioli and let the magic happen.


When you add ZoOSh to your food, you make ‘the yummy face’, and we certainly did after taking a bite out of this Goliath. The lamb patty was moist and flavoursome with a perfect pink middle. We decided to use these ingredients to emulate a traditional lamb and Greek salad, all in the form of a burger, and the creamy savoury aioli did it wonders accentuating all the delicious flavours while bringing its own to the table.
