After underestimating the hill from Central to Crown Street, we were hungry! Luckily, Mad Spuds was there to save the day!
Starting off with a nice strong latte we eagerly perused our menus to subdue the growing belly rumbles.
Mad Pan Brekkie ($16)
Filled with Boston beans, 2 spiced pork sausages, hash browns, poached eggs and roast sweet onion. Everything was how it should be. Firm beans, juicy sausages, crispy hash browns, sweet onions and a bright yellow yolk. A perfect hearty meal for chilly mornings.
Lamb Backstrap ($15)
When my friend asked for a salad recommendation, as soon as I saw the word “halloumi”, I said “this one”.
“… We’re not friends anymore.”
It was my first time trying pearl couscous and it almost had a bean-like texture to it. The lamb was well cooked. An overall delicious and filling salad.
Yeh, keep smiling Mr Potato Head. You’re next…#MadForSpuds
While paying for the bill, I noticed comical and PUNny posters that I know readers would appreciate.
