Another glorious summer day calls for a beachy kind of eat, and first on my list is Watsons Beach Club. Located on the waters edge of Watsons Bay, the space offers views of the breathtaking city skyline amid swaying palm trees and a warm sunny breeze.
Pacific Oysters 1/2 doz $22 – 1 doz $40
Plump and juicy with a real ocean freshness. The mignonette dressing is the perfect accompaniment.
Bang Bang Chicken Salad $22
Being close to starvation I’ll admit I was a little disappointed when I heard my sister utter the words “I’ll just have a salad”, but was quite impressed when this came out. Brimming with cucumber, sprouts, cabbage, shallots and tender shredded chicken, this hearty salad was actually pretty substantial and full of zesty lime and chilli flavours.
Pork Sliders $15 (Wednesdays only)
The special of the night was sliders and I couldn’t resist these chunky buns. The massive cube of sticky sweet pork is encased was encased by a soft dinner bun and accompanied (barely) by a red cabbage slaw.
Berkshire Pork Belly $26
A bigger (and better) version of the sliders. The pork is cooked to sublime perfection with a black vinegar caramel coating, rainbow apple slaw and a scattering of peanuts. A pretty large portion, but for the price you’re paying it should be.
Bay Burger $22
A real old school burger, plain and simple with loads of flavour. The pattie is made with 3 cuts of beef and layered with crispy bacon, tomatoes, lettuce and a creamy house sauce. Served with a side of chips and slaw, I have to say I was pretty impressed with this.
Watsons Beach Club is a fantastic eatery with a beautiful view of the bay and a laid back vibe. The perfect summer get together.
