Mary’s owners Jake Smyth and Kenny Graham have grown, officially opening their second location in the heart of the city. And amongst the hype, excitement and line-up of hungry diners all waiting eagerly on opening day were us.
Within minutes of opening, a line of 100 people were waiting. People passing by asked us what are we all waiting for – to which we responded, Mary’s Burgers of course, why aren’t you in the line?
Five burgers are available: The Mary’s burger, cheeseburger, chicken burger, veggie burger and a breakfast burger
Their combo is $15 for burger, fries and drink or the $17 combo $17 that comes with a milkshake.
As a takeaway only burger store, each burger was served up in a white takeaway bag with black Mary’s branding. It wont be too long now until we start seeing business people in suits walking around the city carrying white Marys burger bags.
To be honest, this was our first Mary’s burger. And it was pretty spectacular.
The bun was brioche bread, super soft. Reminiscent of a McDonalds burger, but oh so much better. The meat literally meats in your mouth and the sauce fantastically complements it.
Chicken Burger $12 – Mary’s Sauce, Tomato, Lettuce, Cheese, Onion and Fried Chicken
The fried chicken was perfectly cooked. Tender and succulent with a crispy fried skin.
I know where Ill be getting my burgers from in the city.
