Bar manager Steven Rose creating his nitro-magic
Liquid Nitrogen fired Orange Vanilla Meringue with Sesame Seed Candy
An unreal experience! The nitro-meringue literally melts into a cloud of creamy citrus as soon as it hits your tongue and the sesame candy was a crunchy and delicious base.
Steven preparing ‘Heavens Whisper’
Heavens Whisper – Rock Melon, Passionfruit Sorbet, Malibu and Banana Liqueur
Light and creamy with a nice alcoholic kick, you can really taste that beautifully fresh rockmelon.
Alcoholic Pearls – Raspberry Vodka and Grenadine
Like tiny alcoholic caviar I felt super fancy spooning this into my mouth. Until of course the alcohol hit and the full white trash side of me starts to come out. The white chocolate pieces were a sweet touch.
Burnt Pineapple Meringue – Liquor 43, Tequila, Lime Juice, Pineapple, Mescal Espuma foam top burnt with a Flame Torch ($18)
This vivid yellow concoction is beautifully sweet and tart. I really liked the fact that they torch the top of the foam, giving it a marshmallowy taste.
Alien Urine Sample – Banana Liqueur, Midori, Sweet and Sour Mix, Sprite, Peach Schnapps, Blue Curacao, Malibu
“Take us to your leader!! We have a drink for him….”
Smoked Boulevardier – Compari, Sweet Vermouth, Whisky, Stirred in mix glass, smoked and poured over ice ($18)
Bartender Clinton Wilburn giving this drink its intoxicatingly good flavour using apple wood smoke. This mans-man drink is surprisingly smooth and very (very) easy to drink.
Complicated Mexicano – Chipotie Vodka, Passion Puree, Espettett chilli, Lime Juice, Pineapple and Spicy Limon Rim
A very unique drink and one to give the old Bloody Mary a run for her money. This cocktail has all the makings of a refreshing fruity cocktail, however beware, expect a kick from the chilli. Spicy!
Chef Tobias Mahnert put together a really tasty meal for us starting with the Mezze platter – marinated zucchini, eggplant and parsnip and sweet potato fries with oven roasted pumpkin dip, smoked capsicum dip and lemon infused olive oil with balsamic vinegar. Yummy!
Orange and rosemary marinated lamb skewers, double fried dutch cream potato, green beans wrapped in bacon, chilli cracker and red vine jus.
A sensational dish the lamb was moist and tender, pretty much falling off the skewer, while the veggies were crisp and flavoursome. We did not expect such a high quality food. Cheers to the chef!
Peach Tree – Coco Lopez, Peach Schnapps, Rum, Orange Juice, shaved cinnamon ($18)
A nice little shooter. I actually sipped this one slowly, savouring the creamy peach flavour mixed with a hint on cinnamon.
Yes – Belvedere Vodka, Chambord, Sprite, Strawberries, Limes and Sugar ($18)
Yes! Yes! YES!!!! We could tell straight away why this cocktail is one of the most popular on the menu. With a fresh fruity flavour and beautiful presentation all you have to say is…yes.
Fruit Tingle – Belvedere Vodka, Blue Curaco, Topped with Sprite and Grenadine
What is this sorcery? The fruit tingle tantalized not only our eyes but our tastebuds too.
Cotton Candy – Peach Schnapps, Grenadine, Raspberry, Sugar Syrup
Feeling like a (slightly drunk) kid at a carnival the Cotton Candy Shooter is super sweet, full of fun and leaves you with a slight buzz and a huge sugar high.
Alien Brain Hemorrhage – Peach Schnapps, Baileys, Blue Curacao and
This was our last shot to finish off the night. Look how beautiful it looks. The trick with this one is to shot it down quick. Delicious.
You’ll never want a standard drink again…
