Jerk Pork Neck with Jungle Slaw, Pineapple & Chilli Salsa & Bread Rolls
What a feast! Tender pork, smothered in a rich gooey jerk sauce, that simply melts in your mouth. Pack it in a soft bread roll, chuck in a little of the rich creamy jungle slaw, add some crispy sweet potato fries and you’ve got yourself a fine DIY meal.
For a taste of Jamaica, step inside the Surry Hills Forrester Hotel. Walk upstairs to the recently refurbished level one. And dine at Queenies, for all your Pan Tropical Specialities. This new Caribbean themed restaurant is decked out with thatched ceilings, Jamaican girl photos and flowers galore, and is brought to you by the Drink & Dine Group.
Prawn Mango and Ginger Bammies
Bammies! These are traditional Jamaican chewy flat bread. I liked that the mango really helped bring a fresh sweetness to the prawn while the ginger really adds a nice punch. A tad messy to eat but who cares? Just means you get to lick your fingers after!
Fresh Made Donuts
Talk about an afternoon delight. Soft balls of doughy goodness generously covered in cinnamon and sugar, and accompanied by a vanilla dipping custard as well as a rich dark chocolate sauce.
Jamaican me crazy!!
